Teresa just called me and told me that we got out of Family Court on Friday and will be in PGN by Thursday or Friday! I am so excited!!!! The timeline in my head is right on, so far. We are still hoping to go pick him up sometime in April. Please be praying we get a good reviewer in PGN and that we don’t get any kickouts!
PGN, for those of you confused now, is the final stage in this process. It is where they look at ALL the paperwork that has been done. This is the point where all the paperwork that we did, and had to re-do, matters. We could get kickout for something as simple as the reviewer not being able to see one of the letters of someone’s signature. Our agency had us re-do some of our stuff, before we even sent it to Guatemala, so that when we got to this point, we wouldn’t get kickout. So, hopefully everything will be approved. It all depends on what reviewer you get. Some are really picky and some are not as bad.
It’s kinda weird to be at this point. It seems like yesterday PGN seemed so far away. We still have a good month and a half probably, but we are in the home stretch!!

Congratulations!!! We wish we were on the same time line as you! We are stuck in family court with no interviews and the DNA testing hasn’t even happened yet. We don’t know what the hold up is and are feeling so sad about the lack of progress. But we rejoice with you and the fact that your son will be home soon!

WONDERFUL NEWS!!! So excited for you all! I do pray that the timeline in your head is the one that becomes reality. I have to caution you on getting yourself too set on that, however. Things can really drag out in PGN and it’s really hard emotionally. I’m seeing a lot of people from my agency (which also does it’s best to make sure documents look good for reviewers) still experiencing KOs which really delay things. Not trying to be a downer!!! I’ve just learned from experience that getting too psyched up for what could be was pretty painful!
How wonderful that ALL things are possible with our God :)
We aren’t in FC yet and DNA hasn’t even happened yet. Our daughter was over 2 mos. old at time of referral which apparently meant that 21 Guatemalan side documents had to be redone for the US Embassy as they won’t look at anything notarized more than 2 mos ago. Frustrating, but God is really holding us together. We got to send her one 2.5 gal. ziplock bag which I STUFFED with toys, clothes and pictures!
The photos of Mason are beautiful!!! He DOES seem to like his hair :) Can’t wait to read about his homecoming!!!!
