The Hiestand Family’s Adoption Journey |

Things are looking up.

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post… we just spent a week and half in Florida and we are just getting back and settled again. I didn’t get the paper work done before we left because we had to get our finger prints done over (I’m not sure if I mentioned that in my last post). And then we had to send them off to the FBI for them to check and see if we have a record and all that. So, we are waiting to get them back saying everything is fine, and then we can send everything to Harrisburg to get state certified. I just called the lady in the FBI office and she said they were put in the mail yesterday, so that is great news! All our other paperwork is done, so we are just waiting on those. We are going to use the currier in Harrisburg to walk all our documents into the office, which saves about a month. And then we are also going to use a currier in New York at the consulate, to get certified. That will be a little more money than we had planned on, but again it will save a ton of time. So, if everything goes well we could have all the documents back in Guatemala in three weeks or so. Please continue to pray that everything will run smoothly, and the money will be there when we need it!
I’m back to thinking about the birthmom again, because if everything goes smoothly, we could POSSIBLY have our referral by the end of Sept. which means he could be born any time now. It’s so hard to imagine facing what she is going to have to in the next couple weeks. Please pray for her too!!
Thanks for everyone’s encouraging words during all of our frustration. And thanks for listening to me rant on about the process!
