Okay, so I know that I haven’t written in a long time, but there really wasn’t a whole lot to tell (and I’m just not really a blogger. But I’m working on it!) But as of last week, have officially started what people in the adoption world call “the paper-chase”. We finally chose an agency to do our homestudy (there is a link over to the right for the agency) so now we have a lot of paper collecting to do. There are a ton of things needed to finalize the home study, and pretty much everything has to be notarized! And we have to go through our house and make sure things are ready for a social worker to come through and inspect. For example, all the cleaning products need to be out of reach from little hands, outlet covers, cabinet door stopper things (I have no idea the technical word for those) and things like that. So, all in all, it’s a lot of work. I’ve heard the whole process, paper work plus the visit, takes at least a month.
We are also working on some other ways to come up with money. Todd is working on an online auction, so we will keep you updated on that. And any other ideas people have to raise money, please let us know. We will do anything!!!
Thank you so much to everyone who has shown support so far. We are so excited to see what God has in store. We will continue to keep you updated as things as they happen, so stay tuned!

Congratulations and good luck! We have a son adopted from Bulgaria, now two years ago. BUT, I still remember the ridiculous paperwork and LONG wait. My best friend also adopted a little boy from Guatamala. My advice….whip through your dossier as quickly as possible. Start things in advance….like get copies of your and your husbands birth certificates sent to you now. Begin your INS paperwork NOW and get your international fingerprints done right away. These are things that take up time in the long run. There will be hold ups, but remember you have control in what things you accomplish and when. Oh, and don’t worry about the money, it will show up…..we began a “Liam Fund” and a lot of people contributed, churches, famillies and friends….we still owe quite a bit but it will work out and we are VERY blessed.

Thanks for the advice! We actually have pretty much all of those things done. Just a few more little things, and we should be done. I am getting very excited!
Do you have any pictures of your son Liam? I would love to see them.
And do you have any ideas for us in the money department. I am open to any suggestions!
Thanks again for the encouragement!
